19. INT. ELYSIUM TOWERS – UNIT 78 – LATER
Lilith sits on the corner of her bed, her back stiff. The only light in the room is moonlight that spills in from the sliding doors which open onto her private terrace.
She is trying to fathom the fact that she actually feels something now, despite her solitude, a strange urge to make farewells, to make some kind of peace with herself, though she knows fully well she has no reason to be conflicted at all.
Lilith is uncertain where these feelings, these stirrings, have come from, but they are of interest to her. She studies them intensely, the way one would probe a loose tooth with the tip of a tongue.
For the first time in her isolation, Lilith is stimulated.
She is astounded that this is possible without an audience, without eyes that expect something from her. (Or perhaps, she thinks, God is her audience. Perhaps she is performing for Him now.)
Suddenly, the Habagat theme bursts from her cell phone. She answers.
“Hello?”
“Lilith?”
“Who--?”
“This is Joanna Delgado, manager ni Luis.”
Silence, then:
“We need to talk.”
FADE TO BLACK.
